Testimonials

"Our behavior as an athlete is often determined by our previous experiences and how we dealt with those experiences. It is these experiences from past performances that can often shape what will happen in the future. It is for this reason that you learn and move on to be more mentally stronger as both an athlete and as a human!"

"We were lucky enough to have Coach Herrick work with our team for 2 years. She met with the team and focused on mental skills, team building. The mental side of sport is so critical, especially team sports. I was impressed how Brittany helped the team see and understand how other teammates might be feeling or understanding things. Although I was not present for the meetings which allows the players to open up I could see the difference of teamwork on and off the court. It was extremely helpful that Brittany had also been a coach because she can help the players understand how and why coaches say and do things.

Team building is a must for all teams but when it is player led it is a game changer for your team.  She helped our team understand that and take a larger role in where our team wanted to be on and off the court.

She also met with small groups and individually with our players.  My players thought this was helpful and it surprised them how helpful it was.  It was a safe place to talk about their feelings about their teammates, coaches and their personal performance. Self doubt can be overlooked by coaches and I am thankful Brittany could help them through that and teach them how to overcome and succeed. I am hoping to have Brittany work with my teams consistently.  Her expertise helps my program improve in areas I am not knowledgeable or trained for".

“Being someone who has high anxiety and failure, judgement is a huge fear of mine within sports and life. Brittany has helped improve my mentality revolving around those aspects tremendously. I have learned that I have the ability to focus on a specific moment, be present in that moment, and recognize that I control the task at hand. Working with Brittany has helped me improve my mentality revolving around those aspects tremendously.”

“The main thing that I noticed in myself was how I was able to move away from negative self-talk and respond to my mistakes in a more positive way. I know at the beginning of the season I wore my emotions on my face, and that was something that I worked on with Brittany and was able to use my mistakes and respond positively by using the “next play” mentality and moving on. I think it helped me individually but also helped with my teammates when I stay positive, they are definitely more likely to stay positive. It was great to have someone that is completely impartial that I could talk basketball with. Brittany is very impartial and said things in a way that made me take a new perspective and determine what I can do to help our team.”

“I think Brittany did a great job of adjusting to our team depending on how we were feeling. She was able to read our body language very well. I like how we would meet in the locker room at the end of the season which made the meetings seem less formal.”
