"As a Certified Mental Performance Coach, I am focused on helping athletes’ gain confidence by developing skills to better navigate the pressure of performance through evidence-based, solution-focused, and adaptable mental skills programming with the whole athlete in mind."
Hi, I'm Dr. Brittany Herrick. I grew up playing multiple sports and had a passion for competing. My pursuit of excellence contributed to achieving success in collegiate and professional basketball. When I decided to retire, it was only natural that I transitioned into coaching basketball and strength and conditioning. After coaching for over a decade, I realized my passion for helping student-athletes was predominantly off the court in the areas of mental training, character building and goal setting. In my experience, I recognized that in order to best serve student-athletes I needed to be able to devote my full attention to the mental and off-the-court needs. I decided to pursue my doctorate in Sport Performance and Psychology from the University of Western States. I believe student-athletes are underserved regarding their mental training and ability to navigate the increasing pressure of performance. When athletes develop better coping mechanisms they are better able to regulate emotions, improve decision-making, and increase confidence. I view sports as a microcosm of the real world, by helping individuals become mentally stronger for sport, they can be better equipped to become better humans.
